Side-Loading Underground Smart Waste Systems provide safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly solutions developed to meet the needs of modern urbanization and environmental management. The system consists of two concrete chambers, one large and one small. The smaller concrete chamber (Power Unit) houses the hydraulic and electronic power units that enable system operation, as well as the remote control receiver. A single Power Unit can be designed to operate up to four 3200-liter waste systems simultaneously when required. The larger concrete chamber integrates a 3200-liter plastic waste container and a hydraulic platform that moves the container vertically within the concrete structure. The system can also be adapted for rear-loading operation when needed.

Next-Generation Side-Loading System

Thanks to its side-loading design, the system can be operated with compatible waste collection trucks without the driver leaving the vehicle. Using a remote control, the system opens, empties the waste, and returns to its closed position within 80–90 seconds. Unlike conventional rear-loading systems, it eliminates the need for personnel at the rear of the vehicle and significantly reduces downtime. Compared to crane-based systems, it does not require stabilizer deployment, does not need high lifting distances, prevents damage to electrical and telephone lines, and avoids the spread of harmful wastewater into the environment during waste disposal.

Smart Waste Management

Thanks to integrated smart sensors, each container regularly reports data such as fill level, last collection time, and ambient temperature to the central system. This data is analyzed through software, and the containers that need to be emptied are displayed on a digital map with the shortest route. Fuel consumption, waste collection volume, and labor costs become predictable. Reports can be accessed via SMS, email, or a web interface, enabling intervention only for full containers and thus saving both time and fuel.

The system provides audible warnings for visually impaired individuals during operation and visual alerts for hearing-impaired users. By isolating waste underground, unpleasant odors, bacteria, and the risk of disease are minimized. Waste shafts made of stainless metal and HDPE polyethylene are fully safe for both human and animal health. Thick-walled concrete chambers keep potential hazards underground, ensuring high safety, especially in crowded areas.
